THE REFUGE

In 1922 CAI Milano chose this location to build a refuge with the generous grant of the Casati Family.  Upon inauguration, the refuge was named after Gianni Casati, a young member of the section, and officer who died in Gorizia.

In 1985 the refuge was completely refurbished, and dedicated the following year also to the memory of Alessandro Guasti, Milanese alpinist and passionate skier.

HOW TO REACH THE REFUGE

From Santa Valfurva continue on the road to Hotel Ghiacciaio dei Forni, and its nearby parking lot.  Continue on foot to Pizzini Frattola Refuge in Cedec Valley, and to Cedec Lake, where the dirt road ends (2832 m) (1.50 h).  A narrow winding path climbs the steep mountain side to Cevedale Pass (3266 m) and arrives at the refuge (1.20 h).
